How we check our figures in Australia

Last updated: October 2026

Every rate, threshold and allowance in our Australia calculators is read from the public body that sets it — never from another calculator or a news summary. Each figure lives in one versioned data file with a note of where and when it was read, and the calculator page shows the same sources and date you see below. Arnold Gold, our Product Manager, reviews each calculator against those sources before it goes live.

Calculators and their sources

CalculatorSourcesTax yearLast checked
Stamp Duty CalculatorRevenue NSW, State Revenue Office Victoria, Queensland Revenue Office, RevenueSA, RevenueWA, State Revenue Office of Tasmania, ACT Revenue Office—10 Sept 2026

GST CalculatorATO—25 Sept 2026

Where a row says date not recorded, our data file names the source but not the day it was read, so we don't print one. Those figures are next in line for a dated re-check.

How often we re-check

The Australian financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June. We re-check income tax, GST and the state duty tables for each new financial year, and when a state revenue office announces a change.

What the calculators don't do

They give estimates from the general rules. They don't know your full circumstances — other income, reliefs you're entitled to, or decisions only a tax authority or adviser can make — and they are not financial, tax or legal advice. Each page says what it leaves out.
